Youngistaan Foundation is excited to be supporting the virtual National WASH Conclave 2022 taking place on 23 to 25 February 2022 from 2:00pm to 6:30pm to bring together Government and WASH sector players on a platform to build on the following objectives:
- Deliberate on sector approaches and strategies for improved and sustainable WASH services by Panchayats
- Facilitate learning and sharing of best practices of various WASH programs for scaling up
- Discuss and agree on ‘Call for Action’ for advancing WASH in Panchayats by all sector players
ABOUT THE NATIONAL WASH CONCLAVE 2022
Sustainable Development Goal 6 is a global commitment to ensure safe drinking water and sanitation for all. The goal emphasizes the need to think and act holistically to ensure Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) is integrated in policy and practice.
The Government of India has launched Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) Phase-II and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) with clear guidelines and adequate budgets to provide sustainable WASH services on a decentralized mode by 2024.
Towards this, the states have developed perspective plans and started implementing these programs. Since the launch of SBM-II and JJM, there has been steady progress in achieving ODF plus villages and providing Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) respectively.
However, given the need to meet time bound targets, strengthen decentralized management and ensure sustained outcomes, there is a need for consistent drive for change management, improved capacities of various stakeholder groups, convergence at all levels and robust monitoring system to achieve objectives of these flagship programs. There is a greater need for collaboration among government, development partners, civil society and the private sector to build capacities and empower Panchayats to plan, implement and manage WASH facilities and services.
NATIONAL WASH CONCLAVE 2022 ORGANIZERS
NIRDPR in Collaboration with the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, UNICEF, WaterAid and other development partners and supported by Youngistaan Foundation is organizing the National WASH Conclave 2022 – WASH Forward – Advancing Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in Panchayats on a virtual platform on 23 to 25 February 2022.
The National WASH Conclave 2022 will be inaugurated by the Honourable Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu on 23 February 2022.

To participate in the National WASH Conclave 2022, you will need to register on the conclave website here. After you have registered, you will receive an acknowledgement mail to your registered email address (the one that is provided in the registration form). If you have not received the mail in your inbox, please check your spam/ junk folder.
Once registered, you will have access to all of the sessions. You may choose any of the parallel sessions that are of interest to you by clicking on the respective session hall (for details, refer to agenda).
