Annual Volunteers’ Meet

Our volunteers form the backbone of Youngistaan Foundation. From cooking fresh meals to researching the latest trends in digital learning, volunteers are passionate people who are committed to creating a better world.

To celebrate and reward our volunteers, we hold a volunteers’ meet each year to go through the amazing impact our volunteers made the past year, give them the platform to share their experiences and hand out awards for ‘Volunteer of the Year’ for each program!

Youngistaan Foundation held our volunteers’ meet in Iron Hill Cafe this year, and spent hours meeting one another, learning more about our programs and enjoying lots of great food!

HEAR FROM OUR VOLUNTEERS!
If you have ever wondered what volunteering can do for your life and how it can change you as a person – hear from our volunteers!

Here is what our volunteers had to say about our annual volunteers’ meet and how volunteering has changed their lives:

“Whenever I saw someone who needed help, I used to think – I’m sure someone will help them. But after joining Youngistaan Foundation as a volunteer, I realized that I can be that person!”
Pavan

“The reactions and stories I hear from children after our sessions on Menstrual Hygiene Management and Child Safety make me so emotional, because I realize how many lives I can impact for good as a volunteer.”
Shalini Chandrashekar

“I’m an introvert and can hardly talk to people. But when I saw people dying during the COVID-19 second wave, I wanted to help in data collection and calling. Now, I have met so many like-minded people with whom I can talk to and continue helping people with.”
Vijaya Shree

THE IMPACT OF VOLUNTEERING
Volunteering has a two-way impact. It changes the lives of people who benefit from our programs – but it also changes the lives of volunteers. During the annual volunteers’ meet, volunteers took to the stage to talk about the changes in attitude, behavior and outlook that volunteering has made on their lives.

Arun Daniel Yellamaty, the founder of Youngistaan Foundation, alluded to this in his address to the volunteers:

“In the last eight years we have engaged over 70,000 volunteers across the country, and the majority of them have been in Telangana. Most of the volunteers stay with us for many years and evolve into amazing change-makers. We have seen volunteers joining us in depression and overcoming their mental health through their volunteering journey. We are glad to give this platform for young people to use their time and energy and give back to the community in need.”
