For International Day of the Girl Child, Youngistaan Foundation hosted an online session on October 30th, 2021 (Saturday) from 4:00pm to 5:30pm to give young girl change makers a platform to speak about their use of digital devices/digital technology to create change. Through these stories, we aim to ensure that this generation of girls will become a generation of technologists. We aim to:
- Enhance awareness on inequalities related to access to technology and development of tech-related skills.
- Spark critical conversations within homes and schools on equal access to technology for all genders.
The theme for 2021 is Digital Generation, Our Generation. Through this virtual conference, Youngistaan Foundation aims to inspire other young people, especially girls, across the country to develop their tech-skills and make an impact in our world.

ABOUT OUR GENDER PROGRAM
The Gender Program of Youngistaan Foundation aims to build safe spaces of dialogue, and engage and empower adolescent girls and boys in government schools, slums and orphanages. It sparks and sustains crucial conversations on safe touch/unsafe touch, and safety rights.
It discusses menstrual hygiene and taboos and myths around menstruation. So far, we have reached 14,000 girls with awareness education and distributed sanitary napkins. In order to end period poverty during the COVID-19 pandemic, the team also distributed 10,000+ sanitary napkins to families of migrant and daily wage workers.
