Youngistaan Foundation received an emergency call from a concerned citizen named Siddharth regarding a calf that was wandering around his neighborhood of Manikonda, lost and badly injured after an accident. The calf‘s maggot-infested wound was so severe that it was causing the calf to lose a lot of blood.
Siddharth was so moved by the calf‘s suffering and the urgency of the situation that he reached out to various organizations that provide emergency help for animals. He contacted a volunteer from Youngistaan Foundation who enlisted the assistance of GHMC and People For Animals to help the calf.
GHMC’s Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Abdul Wakil immediately arrived onto the scene to help. In short time, a team from People For Animals also reached the location and began treating the calf along with the doctor from GHMC.
The young calf’s maggot-infested wound was cleaned and First-Aid was administered. After treating the injury, the owner of the calf was contacted with the assistance of the Local Municipality and the calf was returned with strict instruction on ensuring that the animal will be well looked after henceforth.
It was because of the care and concern of citizens such as Siddharth that we can come together to help animals in need. If you see an animal in need of help, please reach out using the animal helpline: 73374 50643 and together, we can assist those around us.
