BACKGROUND
Across the country, the NGO ecosystem functions as a collaborative network of organizations working towards social change through specialized expertise and shared learning. Recognizing the need for responsible engagement with emerging technologies, Youngistaan Foundation has expanded its work to include Responsible AI awareness, ensuring that communities and institutions are equipped to understand and use artificial intelligence (AI) ethically and safely.
OUR RESPONSIBLE AI PROGRAM
Youngistaan Foundation works with schools, colleges, and urban slum communities to build awareness and practical understanding of Responsible AI. The program focuses on making AI accessible and understandable while encouraging ethical and informed use of technology. Some of the key areas covered include:
- understanding what artificial intelligence is and how it impacts everyday life
- digital safety and responsible online behaviour
- identifying misinformation and AI-generated content
- understanding bias and fairness in AI systems
- privacy, data awareness, and responsible digital practices
- critical thinking and ethical use of emerging technologies
- introduction to responsible AI use for learning and skill development
Through interactive workshops, exposure sessions, and partnerships with educational institutions, the initiative aims to ensure that young people and communities are prepared to engage with AI in a thoughtful and responsible manner.
AI LABS IN SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES
As part of its Responsible AI initiative, Youngistaan Foundation supports the establishment of AI learning labs in schools and colleges to create practical, hands-on learning environments. These labs are designed to introduce students to AI tools, responsible usage practices, problem-solving approaches, and real-world applications of technology. The focus is not only on technical exposure but also on ethics, safety, and social responsibility, enabling students to explore AI as creators and innovators while understanding its broader societal impact. AI labs also serve as spaces for experimentation, project-based learning, and mentorship, especially for students who may otherwise have limited access to emerging technologies.
BENEFICIARIES
The program primarily engages school students, college youth, adolescents from child care institutions, and young people from urban slum communities. Educators, volunteers, and community stakeholders also benefit through exposure to responsible technology practices that support safer and more informed digital environments.
